Dream: Orientation with 6 Patience

It is orientation day in SKPS. Firstly, I am unaware that the timetable given to me is effective immediately, and I forget to take the class up. By the time I’m aware, Clyde has come to fetch me. Along the way, I see Hannah, who has pus-filled acne. I think it looks like chicken pox, so I let the office check it out. They clear her, so I go to my aircon half-class, with the other helmed by Dexter and Puay Hua. 

The class is boisterous, but I go through slide one of the rules with Miss Thien there. Clyde is unperturbed by One Voice, and Jingwen has fallen asleep. I dread the next two classes which involve PE planned by Dulcie. I grouse about this to Tim. 

Dream: Cross-country race

I was taking part in a cross-country race at East Coast Park. I ran past the gawker centre where my family cheered me on. I followed the trail of yellow hurdles. I raced Aerfi to the end but lost out.

Dream: Phone use loses friends

I’m having dinner with Rina & Tim after work. Suddenly, they get up to leave. I hurriedly pack my things and scurry after them in the dark. I’m upset with being left out.

I manage to find them and communicate my unhappiness. They explain they were upset as I kept looking at my phone during dinner.

I explain my introversion but accept that I use my phone lots. Tim explains where he thinks I am on an introvert-extrovert continuum, with mine being more extreme than what we usually find in SEA. I explain that I do enjoy conversation when conditions are right, but will try to prioritize that.

Dream #001

An attractive new colleague joins us from Princeton, and immediately everyone’s protective, curtailing our interaction near the gym where she does yoga. Some younger colleagues help
Me test how much I can stretch.

On the way home, I see her practising her golf short game, with Rayme picking up errant balls. I stop to say hi. She actually seems quite insecure about herself. I ask myself what could be. Is this a test of my loyalty?

In another scene, I find myself  rushing to church with what seemed like Timothy, Matthew and Jiayi. We rush in and they apologise to the Pastor in a dialect. We squeeze at the back. Midway through the sermon, Ps Lawrence Khong comes all the way back to wash his hands at a sink. He talks about his failing health, including sight impairment and wounds on his skin. His dressing comes loose, but he can’t see where. I place it back for him, even though there’s pus everywhere. Is this an analogy of me caring for my retiring Pastor?
