Spider-man 3

This was the best of the (supposed) trilogy. The focus was not on the SFX, acting etc. Instead, what we saw was the simple theme of forgiveness and doing the right thing coming to the fore. Guess Hollywood's now flying the moral flag eh?
The villains were truly disappointing though. Expected so much more of Venom (Topher Grace), but in the end just saw some plagiarising young hack unable to accept that he's to blame for his failure.
Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) too, just fell through my fingers a bit. Is the New Goblin better? No. Just another schizophrenic young man with false information. Took Albert the Butler to make him see the error of his ways.
A tad too long at the beginning, that left 30mins to tie all the loose ends together with the final showdown.
Venom is frightened by sonorous material? Please. That's like SpongeBob being defeated by a hairdryer.
And how Venom came to attach itself to Spidey (Tobey Maguire)? More coincidental than a Channel 8 drama.
I liked the emo-Spidey look though. And there were some genuine chuckle moments too.
And I think there will be a Spider-man 4, if the producers want to milk us for more cash.
And yes, Kirsten Dunst smokes.
