Go there! (8 July 2004)

"Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."
So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the LORD came to him: "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food." "
1 Kings 17:2-9

Where God guides, God provides.

It's often said that God always provides a way out, and it's true.

While He isn't your "Get out of jail!" card, and you should never consider Him that, He remains Jehovah Jireh our Provider.

Are you in the place where God has sent you? If so, you will know God's provision. Our relationship with God is not a rice bowl - it's a mission. He'll never shortchange us and His supply will follow us every step of our obedience to His mission.

Where God guides, God provides! Go there!

If God is calling you to lead a simpler life for the sake of the gospel, do it! God is guiding you somewhere so He can demonstrate His providence to you. God bless those who have stepped out in faith to serve God's frontline mission, forfeiting their privileges of comfort and convenience so that unreached people groups may hear the Good News.

To those whom God has placed the burden of cross-cultural missions in their hearts, may the Lord stir their hearts and give them the faith to trust and obey.

If you do not yet know what your specific calling is, continue to ask God for His wonderful plan for you, like what I'm doing. Remember His three answers: No, Wait, and Here's Something Better? Keep waiting, but keep praying. Amen?
